Chief Marketing Officer, Sharper Granite
Tina Herrera has more than 25 years of experience in technology market development and investment management. Since 2014, she has been chief marketing officer and head of investor client services at Sharper Granite LLC, a registered fiduciary.
Ms. Herrera originally began her career as a NASA engineer, conducting research and managing space life science experiments. As the internet boomed, she was recruited to develop markets for new technologies, leading teams at Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks and Meru Networks.
She earned two degrees from UC Berkeley — an MBA from the Haas School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. She also earned a Master of Science in Engineering from UC Davis and a marketing certificate from Harvard. Additionally, she is an alumna of the Sacramento Entrepreneurship Academy and winner of their business plan competition.
Herrera has been involved with the YWCA since she was a college student at UC Berkeley. This experience firmly shaped her commitment to racial justice and the empowerment of women and girls. She has represented YWCA USA at conferences in the Philippines, Japan, and Mexico, including the United Nations Earth Summit in Brazil, the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women and the World Council in Egypt.
Herrera and her spouse, Reuben Gallegos live in Half Moon Bay and have two daughters. Herrera has coached girls’ basketball for several years, taking her daughter’s team to the championship for the first time in school history.
