VP of Sarbanes/Oxley (SOX) at Kaiser,
Okorie Ramsey has held senior level accountancy positions at Kaiser Permanente for the past fourteen years. He currently serves as VP of Sarbanes/Oxley (SOX) at Kaiser, where he oversees and evaluates business risks to help ensure effective internal controls over financial reporting. Prior to joining Kaiser, Ramsey was an advisory senior manager at Ernst & Young LLP. He also held management roles with Robert Half International, Andersen LLP and Coopers & Lybrand LLP. Ramsey is a certified public accountant (CPA) and certified chartered global management accountant (CGMA). He holds an executive leadership certificate from Harvard Business School as well as certificates in project management (PMP) and directorship (NACD).
In May 2023, Ramsey was named the first Black male chair of the American Institute of Certified Accountants (AICPA) and the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants. The organizations he now chairs represent 700,000 members in 196 countries and territories. Ramsey is also a lifetime member of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and won NABA’s Inaugural Core Values Award in 2022. He is past board president of the CA of CPAs Education Foundation and past chairperson of the Accounting Career Awareness Program, San Francisco Bay Area. Ramsey is an SF State alumnus and currently serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board at the Lam Family College of Business.
Ramsey is married to Tracy Evans-Ramsey, M.D., a pediatrician. They have two children, Alexander and Avery. Ramsey’s interests include family time, music, investing, and mentoring young people and professionals.
