(’04), (’14) Co-Founder and CEO, Señor Sisig
San Francisco native Evan Kidera is the co-founder and CEO of Señor Sisig, a trailblazing Filipino-fusion restaurant chain. Inspired by the street food movement, Kidera partnered with childhood friend Gil Payumo in 2010 to launch Señor Sisig with a food truck purchased from Craigslist.
While earning his M.B.A. at SFSU, Kidera applied his business acumen to grow Señor Sisig from a single truck into a celebrated name in the Bay Area’s culinary scene. Fourteen years later, Señor Sisig boasts a fleet of food trucks and four brick-and-mortar restaurants in the Mission District, the San Francisco Ferry Building, downtown Oakland, and Chase Center. Under his leadership, Señor Sisig has played a key role in bringing Filipino flavors to a wider audience and has gained national recognition, appearing in major publications and on the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”
Kidera’s commitment to the community is equally strong. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Señor Sisig provided meals to frontline health care workers and communities in need.
In 2024, he was inducted in the SFSU Alumni Hall of Fame, and maintains close ties with his alma mater, regularly speaking to business students and sharing insights on entrepreneurship.
He is a board member of the Golden Gate Restaurant Association and a trustee of The Amador Club; a modern private social club located in the historic Bank of Italy building in San Francisco’s Financial District.
